Super League Preview: Wakefield v Hull

James Gordon

Wakefield coach Richard Agar has named an unchanged squad for the visit of his former club Hull FC on Monday.

The Wildcats claimed local bragging rights with a 37-16 win over Castleford on Friday, while the Airlie Birds were beaten at home by arch rivals Hull KR.

Agar is able to stick with the same 19, with Paul Sykes fit to play having been forced off on Friday with a facial injury.

Hull also remain unchanged, which means they are still without marquee signings Gareth Ellis, Shannon McDonnell and Daniel Holdsworth.

Peter Gentle’s injury list stands at eight, although Andy Lynch and Jason Crookes could both be included in the 17 after missing out for the defeat at home to Hull KR.

Wakefield 19-man squad: Mathers, Fox, Collis, Smith, Cockayne, Sykes, Smith, Poore, Aiton, Raleigh, Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Washbrook, Wood, Amor, Wilkes, Mellars, Lyne, Annakin.

Hull 19-man squad: Arundel, Bowden, Briscoe, Crookes, Crooks, Galea, Green, Heremaia, Horne, Houghton, Johnson, Lineham, Lynch, O’Meley, Pitts, Tickle, Watts, Westerman, Whiting.

Prediction: Richard Agar will want Wakefield to exit the Easter weekend on a wave of momentum – home win.
