Stone satisfied with a point

Huddersfield head coach Rick Stone was satisfied with his team’s efforts after they came from behind to snatch a point at St Helens on Friday.

Darnell McIntosh scored two tries as the Giants fought back from 14-0 down at the break to earn a draw.

Sam Wood’s score with five minutes left tied things up and Danny Brough had a chance to win the game for the visitors, but missed a tough conversion attempt.

“At 14-0, particularly after the last couple of weeks, we were still positive in the sheds at half-time,” said Stone.

“It will be a nice step in the right direction considering what has been going on.

“The effort was pretty good. Clinically we weren’t perfect, but overall for the 80 minutes everyone made sure their effort was up to the mark.”
