South Sydney 8-14 Parramatta

South Sydney were unable to build on their round one rout of the Roosters, instead falling to a 14-8 defeat at the hands of resurgent Parramatta.

The teams were locked at 8-8 at half-time following tries from Chris Sandow and Feleti Mateo but Joel Reddy’s try broke the deadlock for the Eels.

Rabbitohs youngsters Sandow and John Sutton flattered to deceive but Parramatta have to improve if they are to make an impression.
