Sneyd excited by Cup chance

Hull FC halfback Marc Sneyd says the Challenge Cup is important to every rugby fan and he is no different.

Sneyd’s Blacks and Whites head to Langtree Park on Sunday afternoon for a Challenge Cup tie against St Helens.

The Challenge Cup is a favourite of the playmaker.

“It’s important for anybody that grew up a rugby fan,” Sneyd told Love Rugby League.

“I really enjoy playing Cup games. Saints are always a really tough, well-drilled side that you know won’t go away so we need to turn up ready to play well for the full 80.”

Hull FC head into the game in eye-catching form, with just one loss in their past seven Super League games.

The Black and Whites beat St Helens 16-17 at Langtree Park last month and currently sit in third spot on the ladder.

The club is coming off a two-point win over Catalans at home last weekend.

“We’re looking good and ready for Sunday,” Sneyd said.

“We all know the importance of the next 80 minutes and are looking forward to it.”

Sneyd has been on a roll in the past month, setting up six tries and kicking 24 goals.

The scrum-half has scored more goals this season, 52, than any other player in Super League.

Sneyd points his own impressive form down to the hard work of his teammates.

“My form been good…. my life is made alot easier with the way our middle has been playing, as well as the players I have around me like Yeamo and Shauly,” he said.

“I think from 1 to 17 we all brought something to the games so it’s been a good season so far for us, but we know there is a long way to go.”
