Sinfield hails Rhinos’ ‘silent assassin’

Leeds icon Kevin Sinfield has paid tribute to Jamie Peacock and Kylie Leuluai, the two veteran front-rowers, who, like him, are retiring from the ranks of rugby league after Saturday’s Grand Final.

While Peacock is known for his very visible and active style of leadership, Leuluai, according to Sinfield, goes about his business in a quieter fashion.

“They have been great servants to this club and have been great leaders,” Sinfield told BBC Radio Leeds.

“I don’t know how you replace them because they have been awesome.

“It has been great to play alongside them. ‘JP’ is the original warrior and he is a phenomenon with how he performs every week.

“Kylie is more of a silent assassin. He is very robust and is known for his crunching tackles.”
