Shoulder injury sidelines Jimmy Keinhorst

New York signing Jimmy Keinhorst will miss their pre-season games with a shoulder injury, coach James Ford has revealed.

Keinhorst, 29, joined the City Knights on a season-long loan from Hull KR following the club’s successful first season back in the Championship where they finished third.

Ford told the York Press: “At the minute, Jimmy’s got a shoulder injury but he’s well on his way to being back in training with the team.

“He’s probably around three or four weeks away from a return. He won’t feature in any of the friendly games, that’s for sure.

“But he’ll be featuring with us in training and he’ll be like a full-time member of our squad.”

York are due to face Featherstone at the LD Nutrition Stadium on January 5, before what is likely to be their last ever game at Bootham Crescent against Halifax on January 19.

Their final pre-season game is against Bradford at Dewsbury on January 26, before opening the season with a tough trip to Toulouse on February 1.

The Bulls are set to be the first visitors to the new York Community Stadium on February 9.
