West Bowling gained their first win of the season as the Sharks were condemned to their
third successive loss.  Neither side were at the races in a poor first half but it was
West Bowling who were the better side in the second stanza and deserved winners.

The first half?s only try came after 10 minutes when West Bowling winger Reece Spur found
a gap out wide to squeeze in at the corner. Ryan Hepworth and Damian Platt were the two
outstanding Sharks forwards who were trying hard and giving their all.

With the score at 0-4 it wasn?t until 58 minutes when the lead was extended with a try
from the hard working Neil Halmshaw who ran through a gaping gap in the defence. Peter
Simpson made it 0-10 with the goal.  The Sharks looked all but out when Martin Tordoff
scored a well worked try and with another Simpson goal taking it to 0-16.

Damian Platt scored a consolation try for Shaw Cross with Craig Lilley adding the goal.
Ryan Halloran?s hard work gave him the accolade of man of the match whilst for the
visitor?s Gareth Cullington was the star of the show having a hand in a try and working
tirelessly in attack.
