Seymour not underestimating Wakefield

Hull scrum half Brett Seymour says they won’t be underestimating Wakefield when the two sides meet on Sunday.

The Wildcats picked up their fifth win of the season last weekend, defeating struggling London Broncos, while Hull were held to their second draw of the season, this time by St Helens.

A couple of wins could see the Airlie Birds right up there challenging for the top of the table, and Seymour is conscious not to drop points at Belle Vue.

He told the club’s official website: “We won’t be underestimating them by any means. If anything, on recent form over the past few weeks, they’ve probably earned the right to go into the match as favourites.

“They’re on their home ground and we are going into the game having dropped a match and being held by Saints last week, so we know it will be a tough match and we will have to improve.

“We didn’t play anywhere close to our potential last weekend as our pivotal players have held their hand up at training this week and admitted we weren’t smart enough, myself included.

“But we’ve had a tough week at training and we are all eager to bounce back with a better performance against Wakefield.”

Seymour joined the club in the close season from New Zealand Warriors, and has scored five tries in 14 appearances so far.
