Salford forward Sebastine Ikahihifo has confirmed he will remain at the AJ Bell Stadium on loan from Huddersfield for the 2021 season.

The Auckland-born prop, who joined Huddersfield from St George Illawarra in 2016, spent the whole of the 2020 season on loan to the Red Devils and helped them reach a first Challenge Cup final for 51 years.Ikahihifo said: “I’m really looking forward to another year here. I got my mental confidence back this season and I’m playing my game.

“I’ve never been in a team environment where there are so many uplifting personalities.”

Salford director of rugby and operations Ian Blease said: “We’ve been really impressed by the way Seb’s applied himself with us this season.

“He recaptured the level of performance which made him one of the competition’s most effective front-rowers and showcased a determination which helped carry us to Wembley.”

The Red Devils are searching for a new head coach following the sudden departure of Ian Watson, who is widely expected to fill the Giants’ coaching vacancy.
