Scott: I’m not thinking of it as a trial

North Queensland prop Matt Scott says the Cowboys are taking the World Club Challenge seriously with a trophy and pride on the line.

The Cowboys have landed in London ahead of their game against Leeds this Sunday.

In the past NRL teams have been accused of using the World Club Challenge as a trial.

But Scott, an Australian and Queensland representative, doesn’t see it that way.

“It definitely feels like there’s something on the line,” he told Fairfax Media.

“It’s a great opportunity to come over and play the best Super League has to offer.

“For us there’s a trophy on the line and also a bit of pride.

“It’s right up there. Personally, I’m not thinking of it as a trial.

“It would definitely be a great achievement and have pride of place in the trophy cabinet.”
