All six fixtures in Round 27 of Super League will remain as originally scheduled, kicking off at 8pm (BST) next Friday night – September 22.

Sky Sports have confirmed that their main broadcast pick for the final round of regular season games will be revealed on Saturday night (September 16) at the conclusion of this weekend’s Round 26 coverage.

Hull KR take on Salford Red Devils on Saturday night in the final game of the penultimate round live in front of the Sky cameras, set to get underway at 7.30pm (BST).

Regardless of which game Super League’s principal broadcaster elect to show next Friday though, they will also have cameras and reporters at every game that could affect the shape of the play-offs and League Leaders’ Shield.

‘Competitive and compelling’ regular season will be brought to an end on Sky Sports

Managing Director of RL Commercial Rhodri Jones recently spoke to Love Rugby League exclusively about Super League’s new broadcast deal which will come into play from 2024 and see every game televised in some way.

He’s praised Sky for what they describe as an ‘unprecedented’ broadcasting set-up as the curtain comes down on the regular season in the top tier next week.

Jones said: “With only two rounds remaining of this competitive and compelling Betfred Super League season, it is impossible to predict with confidence exactly what will be at stake in Round 27.

“We are grateful to Sky Sports for making special arrangements which allow all six matches to be played on Friday night, meaning no late switches for supporters who are planning to attend in person, and an action-packed last night for viewers.

The League Leaders’ Shield will be won by one of Wigan Warriors, Catalans Dragons and St Helens. No matter who comes out on top, assurances have been made that the silverware will be transported wherever necessary on the night.

Wigan Mae the short trip to Leigh Leopards, Catalans are at play-off contenders Salford Red Devils and Saints host Hull FC at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
