Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash says he has already spoken to new coach Brian Noble about bringing in 10 to 15 new players.

Ambitious Koukash, who hit the headlines with a public bid for Sam Tomkins earlier in the year, has pledged to spend up to the full salary cap as he aims to make Salford one of the sport’s super powers.

He said: “I have already spoken to Brian about bringing in 10 to 15 new players to take us to the next level.

“Brian shares my vision for Salford and I am thrilled to have appointed him as coach.

“Brian knows what we can achieve as a club – we are here in the sporting capital of the country and this is why Salford must be strong.

“We will spend the maximum salary cap of £1.8 million and maybe the RFL can allow us to spend even more because of exceptional circumstances.”

After Koukash’s arrival on the eve of the season, Salford brought in NRL duo Liam Foran and Vic Mauro, as well as former Great Britain centre Martin Gleeson.

In recent weeks they have swapped Stuart Howarth for St HelensLee Gaskell, and prop Ryan Boyle for Castleford’s Jake Emmitt.
