Salford have confirmed that two new props will be joining them for the 2015 season, in the shape of Matt Groat and Luke Menzies.

Menzies, 26, will join the Red Devils from Championship outfit Swinton Lions. Groat, 22, will be heading over from NRL outfit St George-Illawarra Dragons.

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash is delighted to have added two quality young players to his club’s playing staff for the 2015 campaign.

“We are delighted to have signed Luke Menzies and Matt Groat, they’re both great new recruits for the club and will add to the base of young talent we are trying to build,” he said.

“Luke has been impressive for Swinton Lions this season and is a real professional with a great knowledge of the game.

“He comes highly recommended by assistant coach Ian Watson and will hopefully make a big impact going forward.

Matt Groat has real raw talent and has already gained a lot of experience at a young age.

“He’s dying for a chance in British rugby league and we’re happy to be the club to provide him with that.

“I have great confidence in Iestyn’s ability to bring out the best in these young players and turn them into stars at Salford; I look forward to watching them play.”
