Salford have confirmed that they have received a transfer fee for Theo Fages, and the French scrum-half is now free to leave the club.

Red Devils director of rugby, Tim Sheens, expressed his disappointment that the French international was leaving.

“Whilst it is with disappointment that this decision has been reached in light of the significant investment by the club in its player, the decision has been made in the interests of moving this matter on,” he told his club’s official website.

“The club send its best wishes to the player for the future.”

It has also been revealed that Cory Paterson, Rangi Chase and Harrison Hansen will be leaving at the end of the season.

It looks like Paterson is moving to Championship side Leigh Centurions.

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash has confirmed that the club is now recruiting for 2016.

“Everything was on hold until we secured our position in Super League,” he said.

“Having done that now, it’s a matter of finalising the deals. I have no doubt that there will be at least six to eight new arrivals.”
