Rochdale have confirmed that they have parted ways with Head Coach Carl Forster with immediate effect.

Forster only arrived at Crown Oil Arena at the start of the 2019 season after spending two years in charge of Whitehaven.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a 54% win rate during his time at the Recreation Ground, but has found victories hard to come by this season.

The Hornets currently sit bottom of the Betfred Championship, having won just one of their opening 10 games.

On his departure, Forster said: “I would like to wish Rochdale Hornets the very best for this season, the fans and the boys in particular who have been fantastic for me during some tough times but I have every confidence in them that they will deliver the results this season.”

The club have announced that Miles Greenwood and Lee Mitchell will take temporary charge of the side ahead of this Sunday’s game against Featherstone, with a permanent appointment set to be announced in due course.
