Myler declares allegiance to Ireland

Leeds full-back Richie Myler has said he wants to play for Ireland at the World Cup. (RLWC2021).

Myler, who has made seven appearances for England, said: “I really want to play in the World Cup. Ged was really open and honest in saying he wants to build something for this World Cup and the next one in 2025.

“With my age, I’m still hoping I’m going around in 2025 so I was really keen to get on board.

“I’ve always wanted to play in a World Cup – always. I’ve always wanted to represent my grandfather’s heritage. He always wanted me to play. I always said ‘we’ll see…’”

Brisbane condemn social media comments

Brisbane Broncos have condemned comments aimed at Women’s player Julia Robinson, after they had posted a picture of her training on social media.

In the statement, Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said: “The Brisbane Broncos condemn the comments on social media aimed at our champion NRLW player Julia Robinson.

“Julia has been a Bronco since the very first day our NRLW team came together in 2018 and we are all angered by the words written by these trolls.”

Cameron Smith not ruling out return against Warrington

Leeds forward Cameron Smith has not ruled out returning to the side for Friday’s visit of Warrington. (Yorkshire Evening Post).

Smith told Yorkshire Evening Post: “I got the all-clear from the hospital, I just got stitched back up and we’ll see how we go for Friday.”

Liam Marshall opens up on relationship with his dad

Wigan winger Liam Marshall talked about his relationship with his dad on the Love Rugby League Podcast this week.

Marshall said: “He was very emotional and said it was one of his favourite days ever when we won the Cup.”

Are four matches in a day too much?

After the news came that the Challenge Cup Final would be returning to Wembley in 2023, so came the news that the Women’s Challenge Cup Final would also be added to the programme.

This means that on one Wembley afternoon, we will have the Year 7 Champion Schools Final, the Women’s Challenge Cup Final, the Men’s Challenge Cup Final and the 1895 Cup Final.
