RFL statement about Challenge Cup Final tickets

The RFL have released two statements after fans were able to buy tickets for next week’s Challenge Cup Final for free with a code.

Several fans had taken to social media to say they had used this code to get their tickets. However, it was then said by the RFL that tickets were for NHS workers.

Wests Tigers confirm release of Super League-bound forward

Wests Tigers have announced the departure of forward Thomas Mikaele to take up a contract in the Super League.

Tigers Head Coach Maguire told the club website: “It’s a good opportunity for Thomas and he leaves our club with the very best wishes.”

Mikaele has been linked with a move to Warrington recently.

Former Olympian scores on NRL debut

Former Sevens Rugby player Lachie Miller scored on his NRL debut, as Cronulla beat Gold Coast 25-18 on Sunday. Miller scored the Sharks’ final try, racing over 70 metres to the try-line.

Miller played rugby league at a young age, but was not picked up by any clubs. He then switched codes five years ago.

He represented Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. However, Australia went out in the Quarter-Finals following defeat against Fiji.

St Helens Women lose first Super League match for three years

St Helens Women’s side have lost their first Super League match since 2019, when they were beaten at York.

The Knights won at the LNER Stadium thanks to tries from Grace Field and Tara Stanley. Stanley also added a drop-goal in the closing stages to secure victory.

Carcassonne win French Elite League title

Carcassonne have won the French Elite League title after a 20-16 win over Limoux Grizzlies at the Parc des Sports et de l’Amitié in Narbonne.

The Canaries had lost the previous two finals against Lezignan and Catalans. However, it is their second title since the Elite League was split into two divisions, and their first in 10 years.
