Calls to hand Shaun Wane new deal

Adrian Morley has led calls for the Rugby Football League to give England coach Shaun Wane an extended contract despite their World Cup defeat. (Yorkshire Live)

Wane currently has one year remaining on his current contract. However, former forward Morley has called for a new three-year deal to lead England to the 2025 World Cup in France.

Mikolaj Oledzki provides injury update

Leeds forward Mikolaj Oledzki has provided a positive update on his shoulder following a successful operation. (Leeds Live)

Oledzki, 24, featured once for England during the recent World Cup campaign, delaying an off-season operation needed on his shoulder. He is expected to be back in 12-14 weeks. 

Rochdale continue to build 2023 squad

Rochdale continue to build their squad for the 2023 League 1 season with the signing of Ewan Badham from Wests Wales Raiders.

He said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play in one of the top teams in League 1 this year.

“I’m here to make a name for myself and make a mark in League 1 as a young middle trying to reach the top.”

Sean O’Sullivan on Dolphins opportunity

Half-back Sean O’Sullivan has discussed his move to the Dolphins ahead of their inaugural season in the NRL next year. (NRL.com)

The 24-year-old joins Wayne Bennett’s side from Penrith Panthers.

Luke Gale joins Keighley

England international Luke Gale has joined Championship outfit Keighley for the 2023 campaign on a one-year deal.

The 34-year-old was released by Hull following the conclusion of the 2022 season.

Drinkwater brothers for Germany

Super League half-back Josh Drinkwater is eyeing up a spot at the 2025 World Cup with Germany alongside brother Scott.

Josh told Love Rugby League: “Me and my younger brother Scott have spoken to the people that run Germany Rugby League.

“If it’s possible, we said we’d play at the end of next year in the World Cup qualifiers and see what we can do there.”

Birthdays

Former Featherstone, Hull, Leigh and Toronto utility forward and three-time England international Richard Whiting turns 38 today (December 20).

Also celebrating; Ex-Wales international Craig Kopczak (36), ex-NRL prop forward Leeson Ah Mau (33), and Hull KR youngster Will Tate (21).
