Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos have confirmed two extra friendlies for 2010 when they will take on Hunslet Hawks and York City Knights in February next year.

The Rhinos will make the short trip across the city to take on Hunslet Hawks on Wednesday 3rd February, kick off 8pm at South Leeds Stadium in the traditional Lazenby Cup fixture.

The following week the Rhinos will travel to York’s Huntington Stadium on Tuesday 9th February, kick off 8pm.

Commenting on the fixtures Head Coach Brian McClennan said, “These will be two important games for us and our preparations for the Gillette World Club Challenge in particular. We begin our engage Super League campaign the Friday before the Hunslet game at Celtic Crusaders however obviously there will only be 17 players involved in that game and these matches will enable us to make sure the whole squad is match fit and available for selection for the clash with Melbourne Storm at the end of February.

“We are happy to support clubs in the National Leagues by taking these games to their home grounds and hopefully they can attract a big crowd. We are also travelling up to Cumbria in pre-season to play Whitehaven, and we see that as important to help develop the game at that level,” added McClennan.
