The RFL have confirmed that Leigh Miners Rangers have been refused permission to play their Challenge Cup fourth round tie against Oxford at Twist Lane.

According to the game’s governing body, Leigh Miners’ stadium does “not meet minimum Facilities Standards across a number of criteria”.

They have therefore been advised to “make alternative arrangements”.

The tie will now be played at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday March 21, kicking off at 2.30pm.

In addition, the fourth round tie between Featherstone Lions and York City Knights has been switched to the Big Fellas Stadium, home of Featherstone Rovers.

Again, Lions’ home ground was deemed to not meet the required standard in terms of facilities.

The game will take place at Post Office Road on Friday March 20, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.
