Rangi Chase suspended by Salford

Rangi Chase has been omitted from the Salford 19-man squad for the weekend game with Halifax, with the club revealing that the stand-off has been suspended.

An internal investigation into the situation is being carried out by the Red Devils.

The club have stated that they will be making no further comment on the matter.

Local reports in Greater Manchester have implied that the matter could potentially be very delicate.

Chase has had back problems this season, but has played in all of Salford’s Qualifiers games, including the defeat to Bradford.

Transfer speculation has linked the former England international with moves to other Super League clubs, with Warrington and Catalans Dragons, as well as Championship outfit Leigh, rumoured to be interested in signing Chase.
