Powell signs dual-registration papers with South Wales

South Wales have confirmed that they have signed the paperwork to bring former Wales rugby union international Andy Powell to the club on a dual-registration basis.

Powell, 31, has played twice for Wigan since his mid-season move from Sale rugby union, and the Scorpions have been waiting patiently for him to become available to play for them as part of their link-up with the Warriors.

He will go in to the squad for Sunday’s trip to Oldham, with Shaun Wane keen for the forward to get more game-time under his belt.

A win for Oldham would put them top of Championship 1, and knock North Wales Crusaders, who will have two games in hand, off top spot for the first time this season.
