Penrith followed up their win over defending premiers Manly with a spectacular triumph over Wests Tigers 42-22.

The Panthers opened the scoring through Luke Lewis and were soon further ahead through Jarrod Sammut but the Tigers replied through Keith Galloway.

The Panthers kicked a penalty but a try to rookie Rhys Hanbury brought the visitors right back into the game.

Michael Jennings sped away for the home side¹s third try and with Gordon adding another penalty, the Panthers held a useful 22-12 lead at half-time.

A forward pass denied Dean Halatau a score after the break although tries to Robbie Farah and Taniela Tuaki for the Tigers levelled the scores until Gordon¹s successful penalty.

Three tries in the last 7 minutes from Frank Pritchard, Wad Graham and Lachlan Coote gave Penrith the win and a slightly flattering scorline of 42-22.
