Paul Sculthorpe was crowned the “hardest man in rugby league”, after beating Lee Radford in the Rugger in the Ring charity boxing night at the Reebok Stadium.

The event, held in aid of Joining Jack, saw eight former rugby league players take part in a prizefighter style boxing show of three one minute rounds.

Sculthorpe, now the business development manager at St Helens, stopped former Hull and Bradford back-rower Radford in the second round of the final.

The other ex-players on show were Mick Cassidy, Alan Hunte, Keith Senior, Sean Casey, Tim Street and Ian Sibbit.
