Parramatta have signed former Catalans winger Michael Oldfield on a one-year contract.

The 29-year-old scored 29 tries in 45 games for the Dragons between 2014-15 and has most recently been at Canberra, where he scored 13 tries in 26 games. Oldfield has earned two caps for Tonga.

Parramatta have also announced the signing of Gold Coast Titans forward Keegan Hipgrave on a one-year deal, with an option in the club’s favour for 2022.

The Eels have retained Will Smith for 2021. He has made 37 appearances for the Eels since joining from Penrith back in 2017. He is an Indigenous All Stars representative.

Hooker Nathaniel Roache has been added to Parramatta’s development squad. He has played 26 NRL games for New Zealand Warriors since making his first team debut in 2016.

Eels general manager of football Mark O’Neill said: “We look forward to welcoming Michael and Keegan in the 2021 pre-season and having Will remain in the Blue and Gold.

“We believe the combination of the new NRL rule changes, Eels coaching capability and our club environment will bring the best out of these players.

“We are thankful of their decision to choose our club and are excited about working together upon their arrival.”
