Parker aiming for Broncos comeback

Brisbane utility Corey Parker could make his return from a hand injury in less than a month.

The 29-year-old tore a ligament from his left thumb in the victory over Newcastle this month and has received surgery.

Broncos coach Anthony Griffin says Parker should be ready to face Gold Coast on April 27, a week after Australia and New Zealand face off in the Anzac Test.

“I think it is pretty clean cut – it will be after that Test match,” said Griffin.

“I don’t think there is much they can do with it.

“It was delicate surgery to pin that ligament back.

“We have got him pencilled in for the Titans game.”

Meanwhile barnstorming rookie forward Dave Hala is set to return to Queensland Cup action when he turns out for Redcliffe Dolphins this weekend.

Hala has recovered from surgery required after tearing ligaments in his foot during the pre-season.
