O’Donnell injury blow for Giants

Huddersfield back-rower Luke O’Donnell has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

O’Donnell, 30, picked up the injury in Saturday’s 40-18 win over St Helens.

The Giants have confirmed that the Australian will sit out between four and six weeks, which could rule him out of the International Origin game to be played at Headingley on June 10.

Another Giant with a hamstring problem is Joe Wardle. The 19-year-old limped out towards the end of the Saints win, although he is likely to be fit again within a fortnight.

Wardle, who can fill in at loose forward, half-back or centre, joined the Giants from Bradford at the end of last season.
