Newcastle Knights have signed hooker Jayden Brailey from Cronulla Sharks on a three-year deal from 2020.

The 23-year-old will link up with his Knights team-mates when pre-season commences for 2020 after being granted a release from the final year of his contract with the Sharks.

He has made 63 first-grade appearances since making his NRL debut in Cronulla’s 2017 World Club Challenge defeat to Wigan.

Brailey commented: “I’m disappointed to be moving on from the Sharks.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to be playing for my junior club since I was a young kid and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities they have given me.

“I have so many fond memories as well as mates here that will last a lifetime.”

Knights coach Nathan Brown added: “He’s an 80-minute hooker and a team player, who has a great understanding of the game.”
