Newcastle centre Kieran Gill has signed a new deal with the club for the 2021 season.

The former Castleford player made his first appearance for Thunder in 2018 and has since scored 34 tries in 29 games for the club.

Gill said: “I’m definitely happy to have re-signed. I’ve settled in really well after coming from Cas and I’ve clicked with everyone.

“The ambitions the club have is something I want to be a part of and I want to do my best to take it as far as I can.

“I’m really happy to get the deal over the line after such a hard year off the field but glad to secure another year and from my personal point of view it’s a year I want to make sure I fully step up as a leader and jump up to a whole new level.

“I’ll be working harder than ever to do so and hopefully we can be promoted to the Championship, because that is where I think we as a club deserve to be. After the signings we’ve made, I can’t wait to get going and get stuck in.”

Thunder director of rugby Denis Betts said: “It’s fantastic that Kieran had signed on again for next year. He sees and shares the ambition we have as a club.

“He has been a great player for the club since arriving and he is only going to get better. I’m looking forward to seeing him take the next steps and challenge himself further as a leader in the group.”
