Netherton set for Hull KR testimonial

Hull KR prop Jason Netherton has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

Netherton, 31, will enjoy a testimonial year in 2014 to mark 10 years service to Rovers, who he joined from Leeds in 2004.

He has since made 174 appearances and was part of the team that won the 2006 National League 1 Grand Final.

He said: “I’m really proud to have reached 10 years with the club and it’s a great honour for both myself and my family.

“The club have shown a lot of faith in me over the past 10 years and hopefully I’ve repaid that faith. When I first arrived at Craven Park in 2004, the thought of being here for such a long time never really crossed my mind. 

“But then when you get to seven or eight years you start to think how nice it would be to reach 10 and here I am. I couldn’t be happier really.”
