National League TV Deal Falls Through

“We were very keen to enter into an agreement with the RFL, but the negotiations reached an impasse that couldn’t be resolved,” a Eurosport spokesman told the rugby league media.

“We were very confident that we could have done a good job and taken Eurosport to a new audience, but there were stumbling blocks that couldn’t be overcome.”

However, the RFL are now though to be in alternative discussions with main broadcast partner Sky Sports about extending their coverage of the lower leagues.

At the present time Sky only show the Northern Rail Cup final and both National Two and National League One Grand Finals.
