Wakefield back-rower Glenn Morrison has signed a one-year extension to his deal at Belle Vue.

Morrison, 34, joined the club in the close season from Bradford and will now remain at the club until at least the end of the 2011 season.

John Kear, the Wildcats’ Head Coach and Director of Rugby, said: “Glenn is a quality player and person, so we’re delighted to have secured him for another season.

“Besides being a good player in his own right Glenn is also a good influence in the dressing room where he is a mentor for many of our younger players.”

Morrison said: “I have been speaking to the Wildcats for some time about my future and I’m delighted to have agreed an extension to my contract.

“It gives me and my family some security for the future and it’s good to know that I’m staying at a club where I’m very happy.”

Morrison came to the UK in 2007 after spells with Balmain, North Sydney, North Queensland and Parramatta in the NRL.
