Morgan Knowles faces lengthy ban

St Helens forward Morgan Knowles could face a four to eight-match suspension after receiving a Grade E charge for a dangerous throw.

The incident occurred in Saints’ win over Catalans Dragons on Saturday, with Wales star Knowles being charged for a dangerous throw on Dragons ace Thibaut Margalet in the 52nd minute of the game.

Knowles has been automatically referred to today’s operational rules tribunal for the Grade E charge handed to him by the match review panel.

Following the review of this weekend’s Betfred Super League action, Catalans forward Benjamin Jullien has also been given a one-match penalty notice for Grade B dangerous contat in the 54th minute of the same game.

Jullien has no relevant record (no record showing two or offences in the last 24 months, including at least one in the last 12 months, and has no similar offence at Grade C or above in the last 24 months), meaning he received a penalty at the lower end of the range.

The France forward has until 11am today to challenge the penalty notice.
