Catalans Dragons hooker Michael McIlorum is free to play against his former club Wigan Warriors on Saturday after a successful appeal against his suspension.

The England international received a one-match penalty notice from the Rugby Football League’s match review panel following their 30-14 win at Leigh Leopards on Saturday for a Grade B late contact charge.

McIlorum was set to miss Saturday’s reunion with his former club Wigan in Perpignan, but he successfully challenged his charge in front of the operational rules tribunal.

The tribunal ruled that he was not guilty of the charge and that he was free to play in this weekend’s clash against Wigan in the south of France.
