Mellor hopeful of Magic Weekend win for Widnes

Widnes stand-off Joe Mellor is optimistic that his team can take their recent good form into their Magic Weekend clash with Salford this Saturday.

The Vikings and the Red Devils kick the weekend off, with their game scheduled for 2.30pm.

“We played them a few months back and we weren’t at our best,” said Mellor.

“We’ve won the last three games now, so hopefully we’ll get the two points against them this week.

“If we get the two points against these, then we’re in the top eight.”
