Sydney Roosters enforcer Mose Masoe will join Penrith next year after gaining a release from his contract.

The adaptable 23-year-old, who can play at prop, second row or lock, joins the Panthers on a two-year deal subject to NRL approval.

Panthers manager Phil Moss said: “Mose will be a tremendous asset to our forward pack. We look forward to welcoming him into the squad once negotiations have been completed.”

New Zealand-born Masoe also qualifies for Samoa and already has 43 NRL appearances under his belt.

He is known for his intimidating physical presence in attack and defence but will also add deft ball-playing ability to the Panthers’ forward pack.

Roosters Chief, Brian Canavan, said: “Mose has a lot to offer the NRL and the club’s decision to grant him a release was based on what we consider in the best interest of his long-term playing future.

“Mose has come through the Roosters junior grades and been a wonderful contributor to the club both on and off the field, and he leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”
