Man of Steel 2022: Ash Handley earns first points

Leeds vice captain Ash Handley earned his first Man of Steel points of the season following his hat-trick performance against Wakefield.

The winger picked up three points following his side’s 34-18 victory over Trinity in round four.

Team-mate and prop forward Mikolaj Oledzki picked up two points. Full-back Jack Walker claimed one.

Mike McMeeken now has six points on the leaderboard, picking up three in Catalans’ win over Warrington on Friday night.

Mitchell Pearce crossed for his first try and claimed two, while half-back partner Josh Drinkwater got one.

Sione Mata’utia still at top

St Helens back-rower Sione Mata’utia picked up three points once again following his impressive performance against Hull KR. Hat-trick hero Tommy Makinson receives two, while Lewis Dodd gets his first point of the year.

Wigan full-back Jai Field continues his dominant performances and he picked up a further three points. Wigan continued their unbeaten run thanks to a late drop-goal from Harry Smith against Toulouse.

Half-back Tony Gigot collected two Man of Steel points, while Guy Armitage picked up one point.

Tui Lolohea leads the way in assists in 2022 alongside Jake Connor with nine, and the Huddersfield man received three points in his side’s victory over Salford.

Chris Hill crossed for his first Huddersfield try and collects two points, while talented youngster Will Pryce picked up his first point.

Castleford claim first win

Castleford claimed their first win of the season and all three Tigers players picked up points.

Gareth O’Brien received all three. Joe Westerman with two, and Jake Trueman collects one.
