Wigan are set to appoint Melbourne assistant Michael Maguire as their new Head Coach on Wednesday.

NRL winning coach Craig Bellamy has confirmed that his number two has been offered the Warriors post and will be leaving next season as long as documentation is sorted out.

“I think he’s got the position – it’s just a matter of getting the visa,” Bellamy told Australian magazine Rugby League Week. “Then he’ll be on his way.”

Brian Noble confirmed his exit from the DW Stadium following Wigan’s play-off defeat to St Helens on Saturday.

Bellamy said the departure would not discourage him from staying on as NSW coach. “We’ve just got to make it work for them (NSW) and for me,” he said.

Brad Arthur will step up as new Storm assistant with a new Under 20s coach will be recruited.
