Magical ticket offer for Armed Forces

The RFL is supporting the Armed Forces Ticket for Troops campaign by donating 2,000 free Millennium Magic tickets.

All 14 Super League clubs will be in action at the Magic Weekend, which takes place in Cardiff on February 12 and 13.

The tickets will be made available to serving members of the Armed Forces as well as veterans who have been medically discharged since 2001.

RFL director of marketing & communications, Andy Hewitt said: “We’re delighted to take this opportunity to show our support for our country’s troops.

“The Armed Forces put their lives on the line on a daily basis to help protect the safety of everyone in this country and we are keen to support them in any capacity we can.

“The Magic Weekend will be an action packed start to the 2011 Engage Super League campaign and it is an honour for everyone involved at the RFL to donate these tickets.”

The Tickets for Troops campaign offers our troops free tickets to enjoy a wide range of high profile events including Premier League football matches, The Masters Snooker and The English National Ballet.

Since its launch just over a year ago, Tickets for Troops has provided over 250,000 tickets to members of the Armed Forces and almost 85,000 troops have registered for the scheme.

Raleigh Addington, Tickets for Troops operations director said: “It is a massive morale boost for all the troops to have the RFL show their support for the commitment and dedication of our troops in this way.

“We’ve already seen a huge level of demand for the tickets and we’re delighted with the response we’ve had. We are really looking forward to working further with the RFL in the future and are grateful for their support during this tough economic climate.”
