London Broncos name set to return

Harlequins are set to revert back to the London Broncos name as they look to revitalise the club ahead of next season.

The Broncos were one of the founder members of Super League in 1996, but a partnership with Harlequins rugby union saw the club up sticks to Twickenham Stoop and undertake a re-brand in time for the 2006 season.

But the club have struggled to forge an identity in their new guise, and crowds have dipped, despite excellent work done by the club in developing the game in the south.

An announcement on the name change, as well as where the club will be playing next season, is expected soon, while the club are also hoping to play a couple of games “on the road” next season.
