Lockyer ready for Titans backlash

Darren Lockyer has warned his Brisbane team mates of a backlash from winless Gold Coast when the two teams meet on Friday.

Lockyer says the Titans, who crashed to a heavy 40-12 defeat against Melbourne on Saturday, will come out all-guns blazing

“We saw it with Penrith last week,” Lockyer told Broncos TV.

“There is always some team under the blowtorch. A team underperforms and they are under the spotlight.

“The Titans are disappointed with last weekend.

“All it does is make them more motivated and they will be keen to do the job.”

The Titans, who were beaten by St George in the opening round of the competition, will be without speedster Kevin Gordon who has been sidelined for the rest of the year with a knee injury.

The Broncos meanwhile, are expected to welcome back injured stars Ben Hannant and Justin Hodges.
