Warrington winger Tom Lineham was taken to hospital last night for scans following a head knock in the game against Wigan.

Lineham was hit hard in a brutal shot by Wigan prop Tony Club.

He went to hospital after the match for examination.

“We’ve taken Tommy to hospital, he was walking and talking at half-time but we’re making sure he’s seeing the right people,” Warrington coach Tony Smth said.

Smith was pleased with his team’s performance.

“I thought it took us about 15 minutes then we turned the volume up,” he said.

“Our defence really kicked into gear and we started getting really physical. You have to stand up against Wigan and we did that so well.

“Wigan were down a number of players. We’ve both got a lot of injuries but most of our starting players are on the park.

“They are down some crucial players, they are doing it tough.”

Smith confirmed that Ryan Atkins broke a finger in the win.

Ryan Atkins has fractured a finger so we need to see what happens to that tomorrow,” he said.

“My heart was in my mouth for Rhys Evans a couple of times but he got through it. We made some adjustments and our replacements did a great job.

“We did what we needed to do, a little worried about the use of the bench but Bennie Westwood came on and did a great job.
