Promising back-rower Liam Walsh has signed a new three-year deal with Widnes.

The Academy product has been with the Vikings since the age of 14 and has worked his way through the scholarship and Under-19s programmes.

The 19-year-old made his Super League debut in 2017 and also made an appearance in a Challenge Cup tie against rivals Warrington Wolves in the same season.

Walsh said: “I’m really happy to get this sorted ahead of next season.

“I’ve been at the club for a number of years now, and I love it here. I’m a local lad and I know what it means to play for Widnes, so I can’t wait for next year and getting stuck into pre-season.

“I now need to get my head down, work as hard as I can and try to force my way into the team on a weekly basis.”
