Leigh mistake over Castle

Leigh have revealed that they are yet to finalise the signing of Mark Castle following an error at the club.

Castle’s signing from Doncaster was announced by the Centurions on Wednesday evening, but it has now been confirmed that the news was released prematurely due to a misunderstanding.

Centurions spokesperson Andrew Parkinson said: “Unfortunately I jumped the gun with this press release, and released it pre-maturely. It is entirely my error, and I apologise obviously to the coaching staff for causing them a few extra headaches, and to the club generally for generating some un-necessary embarrassment.”

Doncaster are set for administration after suffering from financial problems. They have seen a mass exodus of players in the past few weeks.
