Leigh Leopards star Lachlan Lam has been named favourite to win the Lance Todd Trophy, according to the bookmakers.

Challenge Cup sponsors Betfred have priced the Papua New Guinea international at 7/2 to win the prestigious award at Wembley Stadium.

Adrian Lam’s side take on Hull KR in the capital in the Challenge Cup final live on BBC One, with a 3:00pm kick-off.

Despite last year’s defeat the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, impressive Huddersfield back-rower Chris McQueen won the man of the match award in the 16-14 defeat to Wigan Warriors.

Lachlan Lam, 25, has been an influential player for the Leopards and their success since his mid-season switch from Sydney Roosters last season.

He has been ever-present for Leigh in 2023, scoring seven tries and assisting a further 20 more in Super League, the third-most in the competition behind Jack Welsby (21) and Bevan French (22).

Meanwhile, club and international team-mate Edwin Ipape has been listed as second favourite at 4/1 by Betfred.

The hooker has been one of the stand-outs in Super League, including a try in the recent 13-6 Super League win over Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Stadium.

Third favourite has been listed as Hull KR star Mikey Lewis, who looks set to feature at full-back once again in a repeat of the dramatic semi-final golden point win over Wigan.

Having kicked the winning drop-goal against the Warriors in only his second game for the Robins following his move from Canberra Raiders, Brad Schneider is fourth favourite at 5/1.

The Australian playmaker, 22, will mark only his fourth game under Willie Peters at Wembley Stadium.

Leigh Leopards skipper John Asiata has been priced at 10/1, while his counterpart Shaun Kenny-Dowall is 16/1.

Prolific try-scorer Ryan Hall is back in contention for the first time since July after suffering a calf injury against his former club Leeds Rhinos.

He was a late withdrawal from the semi-final clash with Wigan after aggravating the injury during the warm-up.

He was named the Lance Todd Trophy winner in 2014 as the Rhinos defeated Castleford Tigers 23-10 in front of a crowd of 77,914, scoring twice. He has been priced at 14/1 against Leigh.
