Leeds Rhinos had to come from behind to beat Hull Kingston Rovers 24-14 at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

The Rhinos are now equal with St Helens on 32 points in the engage Super League table.

Rovers led 14-6 just moments into the second half but were unable to maintain their advantage.

Leeds opened the scoring after just two minutes, Brent Webb touching down Danny McGuire’s kick to the in-goal area, and Lee Smith converting in the absence of Kevin Sinfield.

The Robins however, drew level, a kick from Paul Cooke allowing Kris Welham to get over the line, Mick Dobson’s goal leaving the scores at 6-6.

Yet another kick gave the visitors a half-time lead: this time it was Scott Murrell turning provider for Ben Cockayne and Dobson converting once again.

The lead was extended after the restart, Dobson kicking a penalty after Keith Senior went high on Murrell, but the Rhinos soon hit back.

McGuire’s pass allowed Jamie Peacock to force his way over the line, Smith’s conversion drawing Leeds within two points, the score 14-12 in the Robins’ favour.

The Rhinos’ win was crafted in the final ten minutes: Danny Buderus crossed and Smith converted for the lead, before Smith’s try and goal just minutes from time set the seal on the victory.
