Warrington back-rower Lee Mitchell is set to move Down Under after the club opted not to offer him a new deal.

Mitchell, 24, spent last season on loan at Castleford, scoring two tries in 23 appearances.

His Wolves contract runs out at the end of November, and he plans to play in Brisbane for a year to further his development.

A Warrington club statement said: “All at Warrington Wolves would like to thank Lee for his service to the club and wish him well for the future.”

Mitchell made his Wolves debut against Catalan back in 2007, and went on to score four tries in 37 appearances in the primrose and blue.

He spent time on loan with Harlequins in 2011, playing 12 games, with his last Wolves appearance coming against Wigan in September 2011.
