League 1 round-up: Workington perform comeback, Keighley snatch win, Oldham thrash Skolars

Workington Town came up with the result of the weekend in League 1. 

A late try from Josh Lynam and Benn Hardcastle’s conversion sealed a 24-22 win for Keighley Cougars against North Wales Crusaders at Cougar Park.

Lynam got two for Keighley, while Harvey Hallas and Dan Parker also went over for the hosts.

Oldham comfortably beat London Skolars 34-4 at the Vestacare Stadium.

Phil Joy (2), Zack McComb, Jack Spencer, Kyran Johnson and Lee Kershaw crossed the whitewash for the Roughyeds. 

League 1 leaders Hunslet continued their impressive start to the campaign with a 44-10 hammering of Coventry Bears at the South Leeds Stadium.

Josh Tonks, Nathan Chappell, Adam Robinson (2), Ben Heaton (2), Gareth Potts and Dale Bloomfield scored for Hunslet.

Whitehaven were made to work for their two points as they edged past West Wales Raiders 30-16 at Stebonheath Park.

Jake Moore, Callum Phillips (3), Marc Shackley and Chris Taylor went over for Haven. 

Workington Town came from being 18-0 down to fight back and beat Newcastle Thunder 32-30 at Derwent Park.

Sam Hopkins, Scott Rooke, Elliot Miller, Perry Singleton and Jamie Doran crossed for Town. 

Hunslet remain top of the League 1 ladder on eight points, with Oldham, Workington and Whitehaven all just below them on six points.
