League 1 player charged for biting and testicle grab

League 1 player and West Wales Raiders’ Shane Lee has been charged for both biting and a testicle grab and has been referred to tribunal. 

The League 1 player has been referred for further investigation following an alleged ‘testicle grab’ during the club’s recent 36-4 home defeat to Midlands Hurricanes.

He has also been charged for biting within the same fixture. His side have won just one game from 19 so far this campaign, sitting at the bottom of the League 1 table.

Tyler Walton of the Midlands Hurricanes has been referred to tribunal for alleged gouging in the same clash.

Full League 1 and Championship charges

Meanwhile in the Championship, Wigan’s Umyla Hanley has been charged for biting while on loan with Newcastle Thunder. He has also been referred to the tribunal following their 42-10 defeat away at Halifax Panthers.

On loan at Barrow Raiders, Salford’s Matt Costello has received a three-match suspension for a Grade C dangerous contact charge. Paul Crarey’s side fell to a 34-24 defeat at home to Featherstone, but have already confirmed their place in the Championship play-offs.

London Broncos forward and Papua New Guinea international Wellington Albert will miss one game for a Grade B high tackle. 

Bradford’s Brad England has also received a one-match suspension for a trip. There are only three rounds of the Championship season left before the play-offs get underway.

Cornwall’s Jake Lloyd, Oldham’s Sean Slater and North Wales Crusaders’ Chris Barratt also all received bans. Lloyd will miss one game for a Grade B dangerous contact, while both Slater and Barratt will miss two games. The latter was charged for ‘questioning integrity of match official’ during their win over Rochdale.
