Latrell Schaumkel targeting return to Super League following new deal with Toulouse

Latrell Schaumkel is targeting a return to Super League after signing a new deal with Toulouse for their 2023 Championship campaign. 

The New Zealand-born outside-back joined the French outfit in 2021, having first featured for Villeneuve in the French Elite 1 competition.

Schaumkel, 28, made 10 appearances during the club’s inaugural season in Super League, scoring four tries.

He said: “I am very happy to continue with the TO in 2023, and to support the club in its objective of quickly returning to the Super League.”

Club president Bernard Sarrazain added: “Despite a complicated season both physically and mentally, we were able to see that Latrell was a formidable winger. I am therefore very happy to see him extend his Olympian adventure! He will definitely be a player to watch in 2023.”
